Elliott Beard spent over 20 years at HarperCollins
Publishers designing, typesetting, and producing books,
including bestsellers such as The Poisonwood Bible and I
Know This Much Is True. For 8 years, he was director of the
electronic text management department, overseeing the
desktop production of hundreds of trade hardcovers, mass-
market paperbacks, and e-books per year.

Olga Gardner Galvin has gained editorial experience
working for nearly two decades for the biggest publishing
houses in New York, on bestsellers by Michael Crichton,
Terry Pratchett, Jeff Bridges, Ursula Le Guin, and Dennis
Lehane, to name a few. Olga also founded ENC Press, an
indie fiction house where she has developed, edited,
produced, and published 20 novels in the past 15 years.

Bess Jankowski toiled away for Big Publishing for a
decade, working on books by Meg Cabot, Jorie Graham,
James Grippando, Kim Harrison, Steve Harvey, Joe Hill,
Chuck Hogan, Faye Kellerman, Gregory Maguire, Robert
McKee, Joyce Carol Oates, Scott Spencer, Lily Tuck, and
Jess Walter—to name a few—as negotiator of Southeast
Asian and Arabic rights deals, finally branching off into
freelance copyediting and proofreading. She currently toils
away at Web development.

Anton Khodakovsky was born in a country that no
longer exists, moved 5,700 miles for a more interesting
job and 1,850 more miles for a better climate, worked for
DDB and Ogilvy & Mather, and, after a career in design
and illustration in Web and print, finally found his
favorite field of book design, in which he has been
practicing for over 10 years.
